Big Sandy at Viva Cantina

Last Saturday I was finally able to get out and hang with my girlfriends! Big Sandy and his Flyrite Boys were playing Viva Cantina. I actually have NEVER seen Big Sandy. Which is odd, becuase I'm a huge fan of his music. I went to the pre-viva show last year, but wasn't able to stay till midnight to see him preform. It was a PACKED house with tons of familiar faces.

I had a little time beforehand that day to try on some vintage.

I loved the top right, but I'm still an inch or two shy of wearing a proper 28 waist. Soon!

I stopped by Los Feliz's Co Op 28 handmade and picked up this lovely pastel 1950's wiggle dress. The beading/sequinning on the top is amazing.

Reverend Martini had Elizabeth dance during "Senorita"

The beautiful Jennifer Keith was in attendance

Singing Happy Birthday to all the beautiful birthday girls!

What a great show! Seriously, what an amazing voice he has. His guitarist is superbly talented. After Viva I am making it a point to finally start learning the guitar.

Have you seen Big Sandy? What did you think?

  3. Looks like such a great time! I agree...that voice! Never gets old no matter how many times you see him! So incredible you guys have a venue that puts on good, free shows on a weekly basis. Such a nice thing to have! So happy we got to go there to see Carlos with you! If only it was not 5-6 hours away ;)
